Biography

Santiago Jiménez was born in late 1972 in the Andalusian city of Seville.

In 1988, he formed his first band, and since then, he has gone through various stages, with notable involvement in groups dedicated to bringing the sound of "The Beatles" to live performances.

Escarabajos

As a founding member of the group Escarabajos (1993-1995), Santiago has been offering concerts featuring Beatles covers across Spain and abroad since its inception.

In 2010, they had the pleasure of performing several concerts in Liverpool, including the legendary Cavern Club, where the Beatles performed daily before achieving worldwide fame.

They also accompanied Marcus Cahill, one of the most internationally recognized John Lennon impersonators, in several live performances to play the complete album "Imagine" in the heart of Liverpool, "Derby Square," the most central and well-known town hall square, as the closing act of the famous Mathew Street Festival.

Revolution

From 1997 to 1999, Revolution was a Beatles cover band formed to tour Galicia and inaugurate a photographic exhibition by Robert Freeman, the official Beatles photographer and the creator of five album covers that have become iconic images of the 20th century.

Freeman fell in love with the band and moved to Seville to collaborate closely with Revolution for two years, sharing multiple musical and artistic projects, and above all, a great friendship.

Mardú

It was with "Mardú" (1999-2001) where Santiago began to perform his own music. The band relocated from Seville to Madrid to work in the show business industry.

Mandala

In this city, together with musicians from Madrid, he founded "Mandala" (2003), a pop rock band. Just like with Mardú, he takes charge of performing their songs live, along with classics from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, such as the "Beatles", “The Doors”, "Pink Floyd", "U2", "Deep Purple", "Lou Reed", among others.

Santiago Jiménez

In his final stage (2003-2008), Santiago decided to dedicate himself entirely to his own songs and embarked on a solo career performing them live.

He sheds labels and decides to be what he always wanted, to be himself. He bares himself on stage with his guitar and piano, pouring out his beautiful melodies and lyrics, drawing from the experiences of his early years in Madrid, which depict a retrospective of his entire life, his personal growth along this long and beautiful journey, represented in his latest CD titled "Cuaderno de Viaje" (Travel Journal).

Santiago aims with these new songs to evoke our purest essence. They are songs for a new era, songs for those who dare to feel, that help with reflection, closing old wounds, and awakening and enhancing the love that we all are.
